threshold stack: one year drawing 2012
stored in handmade ply box
tracing paper, steel nib pen, white wool felt, glass
24 x 37 cm
This drawing project began in 2010. It is entitled threshold stack: one year drawing and consisted of traced drawings of the threshold of the space I worked in part time over one year. The work amounted to 147 stacked sheets of transparent paper-one for each day I worked, and the pages lay on white felt placed on a plinth. The work was an elegy to my brother and mother on the 20th anniversary of their deaths, and it took two years to complete. It reflected upon the relentless repetitive nature of time and the holding onto of memories while grieving.
