In my work, I use line to draw, to investigate and reveal connections.

I am obsessed by cracks – the fissures that occur over time within every surface. In my mind, I collect images of them whilst on daily walks, of pavements and walls in my local neighbourhood. Mapping their locations and insignificant history, I am comforted by their presence- by their infinite alterations- as they connect and slowly transform my urban environment. They are a world within themselves. In these works I am seeking to capture these memories, and by using a knotted weaving technique, to investigate new ways of analyzing and visualizing space.

There is a landscape discovered within the works, which in its tender scale refers to its own construction. The finely knotted seams hover in space as the tension of the threads is simultaneously released and controlled in the open pauses along the wefts and warps within the structure.

Dans mon travail, j'utilise la ligne pour dessiner, pour étudier et révéler des connexions.  

Je suis obsédé par les fissures - les fissures qui se produisent au fil du temps dans chaque surface. Dans mon esprit, je collectionne des images d'eux pendant des promenades quotidiennes, des trottoirs et des murs dans mon voisinage local. Cartographiant leur emplacement et leur histoire insignifiante, je suis réconforté par leur présence - par leurs altérations infinies - alors qu'ils se connectent et transforment lentement mon environnement urbain. Ils sont un monde en eux-mêmes. Dans ces œuvres, je cherche à capturer ces souvenirs, et en utilisant une technique de tissage nouée, pour explorer de nouvelles façons d'analyser et de visualiser l'espace.  

Il y a un paysage découvert dans les travaux, qui dans son échelle tendre se réfère à sa propre construction. Les coutures finement nouées planent dans l'espace comme la tension des fils est simultanément libérée et contrôlée dans les pauses ouvertes le long des trames et des chaînes dans la structure.
